5 Baby travel essentials for cold weather & international trips πŸ‘ΆπŸΌ

Hey Reader,

18 months ago, Jeremy and I began the chaotic, exciting journey that is parenthood. And while we spent the first year mostly in a drool-covered haze trying to keep our heads above water, we've (mostly) figured our sh*t out by this point and have some actual helpful tips to share. Specifically when it comes to travel! Our little one has been on several international adventures, two jam-packed Disney vacations, and a whole bunch of domestic trips.

So, now that we've tested out our new gear on long flights, train rides, and chilly winter travel days, we have a few recommendations for our favorite baby/toddler travel gear:

  • Wool Onesie or Seperates: We both live in merino wool base layers in the cold, and needing fewer layers to stay warm means less struggling with your little one over hats, mittens, and big fluffy coats. Plus, wool is naturally antibacterial, so it barely needs to be washed (you know ... within reason). Baby A wore this merino onesie from Iksplor all winter long last year, and this year she's living in these merino separates from Reima. Use the code PW15 for 15% off anything from Iksplor on TOP of their Black Friday Sales, which are already up to 40% off.
  • Wool Hat and Down Bunting or Down Jacket: A warm bunting or jacket is essential for a long day out in the cold, and we choose real down for maximum insulation. Paired with this soft wool hat, little ones will stay toasty warm and incredibly cute! Both are made by Reima, a Finnish kidswear brand that makes cute, high-performance outdoor gear for little ones. Reima is currently 20% off orders up to $199 and 25% off orders $200+ for Black Friday.
  • Woolino Sleep Sack: Traveling means you don't get control of the temperature of your room. But this merino wool sleep sack is naturally temperature regulating, keeping her warm when the room is chilly and cooling her down when it's hot! We used this all winter long last year and even bought a toddler size this year, so we know she's always at the perfect temperature at night.
  • Travel-Friendly Pack n Play: The portable Guava Lotus Pack n Play has been Baby A's "crib" at home, so we were excited to fold it up with us and take it along, thinking it would be good for her to have a familiar place to sleep in unfamiliar surroundings. It folds down into a lightweight carry-on friendly backpack that fits in the overhead compartment. One thing to note is that a lot of hotels and even vacation rentals will provide a baby crib free of charge, so if yours does, you won't need to bring this along! This is currently on sale for $80 off.
  • Ceres Chill: This insulated portable steel cooler keeps breast milk and formula refrigerated on the go for 20+ hours. You fill the outer chamber of the water bottle with ice (easy to find from a hotel machine, or Starbucks, cafes etc while traveling), and it keeps the inner steel chamber at a safe temperature all day! I've used this on trips without Baby A to store pumped milk until I can get it to the freezer, like on an airplane. It also works to keep up to 24oz of breast milk or pre-mixed formula safely chilled while you're out exploring or on a long-haul flight. Use the code WANDERLUST for 15% off your order!
