50 Perfect gifts for every travel lover (slash yourself)

Published 5 months ago • 2 min read

Hello Reader,

It's Lia & Jeremy from Practical Wanderlust, your travel-obsessed blogger friends!

At this point in our life (ahem: early 30's) we spend more time at home more than on the road. So we want our home to reflect our love for adventure: our house is filled with travel-themed decor, travel-friendly gear, and souvenirs from our various trips and adventures. It's like one big shrine to our travel obsession - plus, it definitely helps ease that nagging feeling that it's time to take off again, and quell our overwhelming urge to book a zillion spur-of-the-moment plane tickets (mostly).

We've created a gift list full of travel-related stuff for everyday life (plus a few practical stocking stuffers) that's partially designed to help you shop for your loved ones, and partially just travel stuff we want other people to buy for us. Let’s just be honest: you’re gonna want all of this stuff for yourself. No judgement, y’all – treat yo’self! And maybe your travel-loving bestie or coworker, too.

Get your wish list ready cuz you’re about to add a whole bunch of goodies to it!

  • Travel Inspiration Mug: No, not a travel mug. A travel *inspiration* mug, that will fill you with the strong desire to book a flight over coffee in the morning, before you've had a chance to properly think it over. Fill the mug with mulled wine spices or some hot chocolate mix and a little bottle of Disaronno amaretto liquor to transport your gift recipient to a Christmas market in Europe!
  • Tiny Map Necklace: These handmade state necklaces and country necklaces from Ivy by Design on Etsy are hella cute. My favorite is this beautiful world map necklace!
  • Destination Art Prints: A work of art representing a destination is the perfect gift for the travel lover in your life who's in love with a place! These bright, colorful pop-art style prints represent cities and countries through landmarks and familiar symbols associated with each place. CityPrintArt shop features colorful cityscapes and skylines, splashed with bright, dripping color. And these National Parks prints are stunning, as are the retro-style city and state designs. You can purchase a print as a piece of metal or giclee art, or as a jigsaw puzzle, deck of cards, coffee mug, or more - which means there's a fit for every budget!
  • Away Suitcase: This is the travel gift to end all travel gifts. Sleek, luxurious, and always organized: that’s the kind of traveler you become when you own an Away suitcase. It’s as if the ability to compress your dirty laundry and keep your phone charged while in transit turns you into a less frantic, more grown-up version of yourself. Plus, they’re like, REALLY pretty! If you buy this as a gift for someone, you automatically win Christmas.

Hello Reader, We love winter. We crave snow and cold weather and yearn for hot mulled cider and a crackling fire. We love frolicking in the snow just as much as some folks love laying on a beach, but we've learned to pack carefully to prepare for the cold. Here are our favorite, field-tested essentials for winter travel: Travel-Friendly Winter Boots: A waterproof, thermal-insulting boot with flexible soles comfortable enough to walk in all day and can be stuffed into a suitcase is an absolute...

Hey Reader, 18 months ago, Jeremy and I began the chaotic, exciting journey that is parenthood. And while we spent the first year mostly in a drool-covered haze trying to keep our heads above water, we've (mostly) figured our sh*t out by this point and have some actual helpful tips to share. Specifically when it comes to travel! Our little one has been on several international adventures, two jam-packed Disney vacations, and a whole bunch of domestic trips. So, now that we've tested out our...
